Deep Woods Estate Cabernet-Merlot
Please view wine facts for the current vintage below as the vintage on the image may vary.
This stunning expression from Margaret River is predominantly produced from Cabernet Sauvignon, the vines of which age 25 years. It drinks wonderfully now or will cellar comfortably for up to ten years.
Deep ruby red with vivid purple hues. The wine exhibits ripe cassis, dark chocolate and liquorice aromas. High notes of cedar oak and bay leaf add further complexity. The palate unfolds in a myriad of layers of ripe blackcurrant and red fruit interwoven with savoury oak. The long and flavoursome finish is well supported by dry and fine-grained tannins.

Deep Woods Estate is a boutique winery located in in the northern corner of the premium wine-growing region of Margaret River in Western Australia in a region called Yallingup an aboriginal word meaning "place of love“. Deep Woods produce in small batches and have their own bottling facility.
The 32-hectare (80-acre) property is perched high on a ridge which unfolds into a picturesque secluded valley bounded by stands of Jarrah and Marri trees; hence the name Deep Woods. The estate comprises a modern winery, vineyard, cellar door and homestead and with its large natural spring, dense woodlands and spectacular views are surely one of the region's most scenic wineries.
The philosophy of low vineyard yields producing outstanding fruit, which is processed and bottled in small batches, ensures superior quality wines. Deep Woods' small and dedicated team controls the winemaking process, which utilizes a combination of traditional and modern techniques, from the vine through to the bottle. The estate is one of only a few small wineries in the region with its own bottling line. The team at Deep Woods is passionately focused on producing quality wines through the management of the vineyard, fruit selection and winemaking techniques, and consistently produces award-winning wines primarily from estate-grown fruit.
